The location is excellent, right in the heart of Tahunanui. the property manager is friendly and welcoming. the room is clean, tidy, and spacious. Close to Speights Ale House with a 10% discount and shuttle service. Good for those with physical handicaps.

Felt almost like at home, no complaints whatsoever.

Very nice people, and the internet was on all day without megabyte limits, which I needed. And within walking distance of a nice beach.

It's a bit far from town - it took me about 1 1/2 hours to walk. But, if you have time, part of the walk can be done (at low tide) along a broad sandy beach, and part huffing and puffing up hills.

This is a emuculately kept, comfortable, motel with extremely helpful hotel patrons. We very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Bay Crest.

We stayed 2 nights at the Bay Crest. I was very impressed with the hospitality of the hosts and we feel we would stay there again. Our unit was clean and spacious with a well equipped kitchenette.

The rooms at Bay Crest Motor Lodge are absolutely amazing! They are so clean and spacious, it feels like I'm living in a luxury apartment. I love all the extras they provide, making me feel pampered and special. As a traveler who appreciates comfort and relaxation, this place is perfect for me.

Personally, I found the location of the Lodge away from the main road a bit inconvenient. But hey, that's just me.

Handy to where we needed to be, both Nelson and Richmond.

The staff tried to make our stay as comfertable as possible

Great spot, close to beaches, walks, cafes and bars. Lovely, clean, tidy and relaxing room with lots of natural light. Homely touches like nice soap, hand cream, coffee plunger bags, and daily Macintosh lollies.

There was nothing I didn't like.

The hotel was very clean - very well furnished and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and personable and had a good knowledge of the area.

The main reason I booked the Bay Crest Motor Lodge was because it had a shuttle to the airport...which it did...but it only ran during business hours -- that is not mentioned at the time of booking and because of this little detail I had to hire a Taxi. If you advertise you have a service you should state any stipulations up front because if not...it is false. The staff were nice enough to arrange a Taxi for me - which I appreciate - but this does not change the fact that the service I was entitled to was not available.

the hosts were very helpful in every way, the facilities in the room were good and they had a laundry room. every where was spotlessly clean.

it was a little too far out of the town centre to walk we had to use the car.

We had a late-night arrival in Nelson and the Bay Crest Motel was conveniently close to the airport. The owner kindly gave us a free ride to pick up our rental car the next morning. The motel itself was impressively clean and quiet, and our room was very spacious with comfortable double couches. The owner went above and beyond, personally escorting us to our room upon arrival. The location was great, away from the main highway but still easy to reach the beach and shopping areas. Despite being near the airport, the noise from planes was minimal and didn't disturb our sleep.

Would recommend this hotel.

Silvia the hostess was exceptionally helpful And friendly, she even drove us to the bus station early in the morning. A great place, well cared for, comfortable and clean.

Sunless one has a car or know the bus system, it can be a bit inconvenient as a location, but the owners kindness makes up for that.

It was lovely and clean and very warm!

Could have new flat screen tv instead of the old analogue one
